Multi-billion factory developments at Magyar Suzuki

The manufacturing company in Esztergom presented its financial results for 2023. In 2023, Magyar Suzuki Corporation sold more than 161 thousand cars, of which more than 156 thousand rolled off the production line in Esztergom. They exported 92.9 percent of the total production abroad, these cars found buyers in 123 countries around the world. The volume of production in Esztergom increased by 24.3 percent compared to the year 2022, while the revenue from domestic and export sales increased by 33.9 percent. Magyar Suzuki closed the 2023 domestic new car registration summary with 12,167 cars and a market share of 11.3 percent. Meanwhile, the manufacturing company in Esztergom invested nearly 55 million euros in investments.

We use cars for commuting and shopping

We find it hard to give up our cars, even though the majority of people, by their own admission, use their vehicle for barely five hours a week – as revealed by a survey conducted by Magyar Suzuki . We mainly use cars for commuting and shopping, so it’s perhaps no surprise that a shopping bag is one of the most important items found in most cars. The little time we are in the car isn’t spent in silence though: we talk on the phone or listen to music or podcasts while driving. Route planners also play an important role in our lives: most of the surveyed drivers can’t imagine reaching their destination by relying solely on their instincts.

Magyar Suzuki exhibited its products at Automotive Hungary

This year's Automotive Hungary expo took place between 7 and 10 May, where Magyar Suzuki represented its full range of products. Visitors could meet the two models produced at Suzuki's Esztergom factory, an S-CROSS and the latest Vitara, which will be available for customers in May. In terms of motorcycles, the stunning styling of the Suzuki Hayabusa attracted visitors to the stand, while the marine outboard business was represented by a prepared 175AP outboard engine. A special feature of the latter was that visitors interested in the technical side of the outboard engine could also take a look inside.

Nearly 1100 people played with Suzuki at the Then and Now Vehicle Expo

This year, the traditional Then and Now Vehicle Expo took place on 27 and 28 April in Esztergom. In addition to the new and vintage vehicles (cars, motorbikes, bikes, buses), there were also colourful family programmes, concerts and delicious snacks for the visitors who arrived in the early summer weather. In the Suzuki tent, visitors were able to see the latest Suzuki models produced in Esztergom, as well as the company's other two product lines (motorcycles and outboard engines). Suzuki also offered a driving related personality test and a prize draw. Over two days, nearly 1100 people were invited to find out what their personality is like behind the wheel. Those who spun on the wheel of fortune could also win Suzuki gifts, with two lucky participants took home the grand prize of 1 adult and 1 children's bicycle.

Magyar Suzuki to produce its own electricity

Locally generated electricity is helping power Magyar Suzuki: on Monday, the solar park of the Esztergom-based car manufacturer was officially inaugurated. The entire investment took nearly two years and cost 2 million EUR. As a result, the company saves nearly 270 million HUF annually and reduces its indirect CO2 emissions by more than 1700 tons. The company's own solar park is an important part of its sustainability efforts to make all products and facilities of the Suzuki Group carbon-neutral by 2050.

The 4 millionth Suzuki rolled off the production line in Esztergom

4 million Suzukis in 32 years. The four-millionth car rolled off the production line at the Magyar Suzuki plant in Esztergom, an Ivory Cosmic Black Pearl Metallic colored, GLX equipped Vitara. Over the three decades of the manufacturer's history, there has been significant progress: in 1992, 970 vehicles were produced in five months, whereas today, the Esztergom plant manufactures 650 cars in a single day.
