Osamu Suzuki elected to the Motoring Hall of Fame
Osamu Suzuki, the former president and CEO of Suzuki Motor Corporation and the Group’s current Senior Advisor, has been elected to the Motoring Hall of Fame. The Motoring Hall of Fame (MHOF), in association with the News Press and the London Motor Show, honors automotive industry professionals who have actively contributed to shaping the international car market through their work.
"He is a great and respected professional who has led Suzuki's global organisation for almost half a century. This consistency is unprecedented in today's fast-changing, ever-competitive automotive industry. With his unique strategy of identifying the exact products that ordinary people want and consistently sticking to them, he has demonstrated a wisdom and awareness that is rare in the automotive industry" - praised the membership committee the former Suzuki chairman. The 94-year-old automotive legend has joined an exclusive circle of just 39 members since its inception in 2010.
During his several decades as president and CEO, Osamu Suzuki has done much to stabilize and continuously renew the Indian market. He is also credited with the expansion of the Suzuki Group towards Hungary and the establishment of Magyar Suzuki in 1991, reviving the automotive industry after a 50-year hiatus. In 2022, the iconic figure of the automotive industry received his third state recognition when he was awarded the Order of Merit of the Hungarian Republic, Civilian Order of Merit, at the Sándor Palace in Budapest, from President Katalin Novák and Prime Minister Viktor Orbán for his continuous work in deepening Japanese-Hungarian economic relations.
