Suzuki employees collected waste at several points in Esztergom
Changes in our environment are drawing the attention of all of us more and more urgently to take better care of our home, the Earth. In addition to the production of safe models, Magyar Suzuki also places great emphasis on protecting the environment. The company cleaned the Esztergom cycle path near the Danube, the Prímás Island and the forested areas of Esztergom-Pilisszentlélek, frequently visited by tourists, from three containers of waste as part of an own and an international project.
Suzuki Motor Corporation strives to meet social expectations not only in its business policy but also in its tight environment. In line with world market trends, Suzuki Group would like to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 in all its factory units and for all its self-manufactured products worldwide. At the same time, the “Greener plant, greener cars” program was launched in Esztergom, during which CO2-reducing technologies are gradually being integrated into production processes and cars, tailored to Magyar Suzuki Corporation. In their opinion environmental protection is a shared responsibility, in which countries, municipalities, companies and individuals can only deliver real results together.
Suzuki Motor Corporation has been working for the purity of the Earth’s waters for eleven years. The Japanese Clean Up the World initiative has gradually become international since 2011. During the years more than 8,000 volunteers from 26 countries have been involved in cleaning up seas, rivers, and lakes. The marine division of Magyar Suzuki Corporation, the I Did it for You, Danube Civil Organization and the 8th grade students of the Temesvári Pelbárt Franciscan Grammar School and College cleaned the Danube reach of the Esztergom cycle path from one container of waste on 8 October. The company supported the work of the volunteers with tools and provided an educational lecture for the participating students.
Two weeks later, on 21 October, the first Suzuki Volunteer Day was held titled "Take it from the earth, do it for the Earth!". At the waste collection event, the employees of the Esztergom company cleaned several locations on Prímás Island together.
On 28 October, the waste collection campaign continued in Esztergom-Pilisszentlélek. The volunteers collected the waste on the road to the village, on the forested part of the stream and on the forested part of the road leading to the Pauline ruins.
Two containers of garbage were collected by Suzuki volunteers on the Voluntary Waste Collection Days. The Municipality of Esztergom took care about the transportation of the collected waste.
