Magyar Suzuki organises traditional city cleanup action again this year

On 14 June, Magyar Suzuki employees gathered with their family members and friends to collect rubbish in Esztergom as part of the “Pick it up from the ground, pick it up for the Earth” campaign.

Last year’s success gave the initiative new momentum, so the route this year was expanded to five zones. Starting from the Suzuki Arena and two areas around Prímás Island, participants worked along the Kis-Duna promenade, around the Basilica, in Erzsébet Park, on the bike path, in the area of the factory and on the surrounding streets to collect as much discarded litter as possible.

The cleanliness of Esztergom and protection of the environment are priority issues for the company: this volunteer programme not only improves the look of the city, but also strengthens the community of employees, while setting an example for local residents. By the end of the day, the nearly 100 volunteers had collected 55 bags of litter.

In addition to the cleanup campaign, the empty bottles of drinks consumed during the work were returned, and the proceeds were donated to the Bogáncs Animal Shelter, while refreshments were donated to the Hungarian Charity Service of the Order of Malta and the House of Providence.
